The 3 R's
Literacy used to be all about learning the 3 R’s of reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic. Now, as we prepare to enter the 21st century, there is a new kind of literacy which people need in order to prosper in our world - a new set of 3 R’s. The 3 R’s of environmental literacy are: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Our human health depends on the state of our air, water, and soil, or our local farm products and food supply. The more that we can reduce and reuse, as well as recycle, the less waste we will be sending back into the environment.
Wait, don't throw those things away!
