About Woolwich Healthy Communities

Woolwich Healthy Communities is a not-for-profit rural community initiative which works to improve our environment, economy and society. The initiative involves citizens from all walks of life in the Township of Woolwich in South-Western Ontario, Canada.

The members of Woolwich Healthy Communities worked together to come up with a set of nine Guiding Principles designed to aid in making decisions that will affect the community. These principles are:

  1. Build A Feeling of Community
  2. Promote a Strong Voice for All Residents
  3. Support Farming
  4. Support Local Business
  5. Treat Waste as a Resource
  6. Improve the Quality of the Environment
  7. Provide for People's Basic Needs
  8. Honour the Past; Safeguard the Future
For more details about these principles, click here.

The Woolwich Healthy Communities Coordinating Committee supports the activities of the 3 working groups:

  1. Clean Waterways Group
  2. Township of Woolwich Environmental Enhancement Committee (TWEEC)
  3. Woolwich Trails Group
