1. Guidebook

80 guidebooks to 5 locations in recent weeks. $480 was recently given to Don Har=

for deposit. There are curren=

estimates that we will have enough guidebooks into the summer. Will need to think about a r=

any suggested changes for the guidebook to Ann.
2. WTG
Membership Report: Brenda was unable to attend due to illness. However, Brenda reported by email =
that
there has been no change in membership since the last meeting, i.e. 65 memb=
ers
for 2006 (34 lifetime, 31 yearly). <=
/span>Revenue
thus far is $940. The members=
hip
renewal packages will be sent out in December and the hike schedule and ann=
ual
report would be needed for the mail-out (see items 3 and 4 below). Lisa made calls about the membersh=
ip
discount sheet and will report when info is available. Loretta reported the followi=
ng by

order around so it doesn't look the same every year (e.g. put
Schelter at bottom as they say they never get any business from this)=
2) take off topographic maps for Schelter but all else the same

Gloria r= eviewed her suggested revisions to the volunteer log. She will bring back a more final v= ersion to the next meeting. Brend= a: please advise Gloria as to the number of WTG crests that are on hand. Loretta offered to review and comm= ent on the letter which goes with the membership renewal package. Gloria or Brenda: Could you please send the electronic version of the letter to Loretta for review.
3. Annual

4. Investment

5. October
hike reports: Joy led the October1 hike at Schneider’s woods. 4 people hiked that day. Paul led the October 15 hike on th=

near Elora. 8 people hiked th=

6. Suggestions
re logistics at hikes: 1- A first aid kit (fanny pack style) will be
purchased and be available for hikes.
2- 2 whistles will be purchased: one for the lead and one for the sw=
eep.
3- Paul suggested a vest with “WTG” for the hike leader. No
decision was made on the vest. 4-Leader is to make an announcement=
at
the start of the hike re washrooms, i.e. “no washrooms” or the
group will stop half way. Als=

to add this to the hike schedule.
7. School
Hike Day: School hike day=
is
scheduled for Friday Oct. 27 on the Mill Race Trail with St. Jacobs PS. Gloria, Clint, Jane and Ann will
attend. There will be 4
interpretative stations (birds, wildlife, trees, history of the mill race)
along the trail.
8. April
2007 Healthy Communities Month Planning:
The group decided on the following hikes for April: 1- GVT hike at Snyder’s Fla= ts. Joyce to ask Jamie Hember if he wi= ll lead this hike on April 22. 2- Mark will lead a birding hike on April 15. 3- Long distance hike with Lucien-date to be determined.

Valley Trail Updates:
New diam= ond shaped GVT signs have been purchased and will be installed on the trail in = the spring every 1 km. On O= ct. 14 two bridges and a box culvert were installed on the north Woolwich section = of the GVT. A hand rail was inst= alled on the bridge on Oct. 25. Wor= k yet to be done on the northern Woolwich section includes: blue blazes and signage = at the seasonal reroute at Brubacher’s sugar bush; box culvert in ditch = off Middlebrook Rd.; side logging in the sugar bush. Another reroute (blue trail) has b= een established at Snyder’s flats. GVT work days in Woolwich will be April 28 as well as unknown dates = in July and September. These dates will be posted on the website.
11.<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> 20= 07 draft hike schedule: The following are suggestions for t= he 2007 hikes. Please let Ann kn= ow before November 10 if you have other suggestions.
Janua= ry 21: skiing and snow shoeing at Sandy H= ills Pinery Trail. Eleanor offered to help lead. Brad and Jim: would = you like to also help out?
March= 18: KBT at Ariss. Paul offered to lead. Is someone able to help= out as sweep? Please let Ann know= .
April= : There will be 3 hikes as part of Healthy Communities month. Mark will lead a birding hike on <= b>April 15. Joyce to ask Jamie He= mber if he would lead a hike at Snyders on April 22. Lucien would like to lead a long distance hike.
May 2= 7: GVT from Rosendale to Victoria St. Inga: would you friend b= e able to come to identify wildflowers? Note: the 27th avoids Mothers Day and the long weekend.= p>
June = 24: Lions Ring Trail, Elmira. Pos= sible family hike. Lisa: wou= ld you like to lead this one with your family?&nb= sp; Note: the 24th avoids Fathers Day.
